Bill was born in Roma and has an extensive rural background, having been brought up on a family property at Injune and owning a cattle and sheep property at Dirranbandi for 20 years.


He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976 during five years with Coopers and Lybrand in Brisbane, Sydney and Townsville and then pursued rural interests as a grazier from 1980 to 1995 when he joined Statham Cheesman Pty Ltd.


Bill specialises in rural and business advisory services and rural taxation policy development.

His hands-on primary production background and professional expertise provide a solid base of specialist rural accounting and related knowledge.

A former Maranoa Graziers Association President and United Graziers Association Councillor, Bill was a member of the final UGA Taxation Committee from 1995 to 1999.
